Welcome to the 50th anniversary celebrations of
St Pauls Carnival
Saturday JULY 7th 2018
CELEBRATION - UNITY - COMMUNITY
THE 50TH ST PAULS CARNIVAL
We’d like to extend a very warm thank you to everyone involved in staging St Pauls Carnival 2018. We are grateful to the residents of St Pauls, and our volunteers, as well as Carnival sponsors and partners for their invaluable support in making Carnival happen.
Putting this iconic event on has been possible due to the collaborative efforts of many agencies across the city. Thank you to Avon & Somerset Constabulary for their community-style policing, and to all the emergency services who were present throughout, as well as Bristol City Council and Arts Council England for their ongoing commitment and support.
The clean up operation has been underway since the event finished at 10pm last night and is due to be completed later today with Bristol Waste on site. A record amount of recycling is taking place as part of our mission to reduce environmental impact.
The event which focused on the theme of ‘unity’ was very well attended by young families and multi-generations enjoying the positive vibes of Carnival. We estimate that crowd numbers were likely to have been in excess of 100,000.
Our goal has always been to make Carnival a sustainable event and develop partnerships with sponsors. At this stage we’re hopeful that Carnival will return next year, St Pauls (Bristol) Carnival CIC.
All lost property is being taken to our office at Docklands, The Settlement, 74-80 City Road, St Pauls. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and hopefully we can reunite you with your property.
