St Pauls Carnival Black History Month Package

For Black History Month this October, we’re delivering a package of experiences to organisations across Bristol that will Educate, Inspire and Nourish - celebrating black history through the lens of Carnival.

Aimed at sponsors and corporate clients who would like to engage deeper with St Pauls Carnival’s histories and peripheral communities, the experiences will explore themes that are directed from personal perspectives of black professionals, rooted in creativity and forward thinking social activity.

The packages will be delivered directly to organisations throughout October, offering a series of engaging educational talks from keynote speakers, inspiring cultural performances, participatory workshops, live music performances and a film screening of Inna Wi Carnival: Reflections Of A Generation – our in-house documentary that joins conversations between locals elders as they recollect their memories of St Pauls Carnival. We are also teaming up with local cultural food vendors, giving the option to nourish the soul with each experience.

Covering a range of perspectives, cultures and activities, each experience sits within the theme of Educate, Inspire or Celebrate – with the opportunity to tailor them into a bespoke package.

Inspire

Experience engaging cultural performances that tell the stories of generations through dance, song and film facilitated by members of our community.

Educate

Learn about some of the key moments that make up our history and present, through insightful interactive discussions from the voices of black professionals working in and around carnival.

Celebrate

In the true spirit of carnival, celebrate! Hold your own festivities with a DJ performance from artists blending a mix of electronic beats that weave sounds of the African and Caribbean diaspora. This could be the perfect opportunity for a fun networking event with staff.
