How Community Support Sustains Our Carnival

We are a fundraising organisation, as our core funding partly covers operations and programme delivery. We always have to fundraise when delivering a programme, particularly in this climate. We ensure that all our artists are paid, as it is important to value their creativity and support their work in these challenging economic times.

Organisations like Carnival cannot exist without support from the city, communities, and institutions. Many UK Carnivals aren't happening this year and as recently reported on, even large-scale Carnivals like Notting HIll Carnival are struggling with the increasing costs of putting on a safe event.

In recent times, due to economic pressures, we have had to become increasingly self-funded and therefore ensure that most of the events we organise are at the very least able to cover their costs. We will, of course, be holding a free community event on the day for all to attend.

We design our pricing to be as affordable as possible when tickets go on sale. As the event comes closer we do, however, need to raise our ticket pricing to a more standard level to ensure we are able to cover our costs.

We want to make our events as accessible as possible to as many people as possible. We have held some tickets back as affordable tickets at £5. Please email admin@stpaulscarnival.org.uk.
