Job Title:

Education Programme Assistant 

Purpose: 

The Education Programme Assistant will provide key administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of SPC’s Education Programme. 

This role plays a pivotal part in maintaining positive and productive work environments, ensuring high levels of organisational effectiveness, clear communication, and adherence to health and safety protocols.

The role requires some flexibility depending on operational needs and programme activities.

Reporting to: 

Education Programme Manager

Salary: 

£17 per hour + expenses 

Hours: 

8 hours per week (may include some evenings/weekends)

Contract: 

Self-employed, fixed-term contract for a duration of 2 months from the agreed start date, with the potential for further work subject to funding availability

Location: 

St Pauls CIC Office, Workplace 5, The Courts, 11 Bridewell Street, Bristol BS1 2DQ. Travel to local/Bristol based schools/education settings shall be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To support the Education Manager with programme planning and administration.

  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating educational workshops and activities.

  • Attend workshops within the programme to provide logistical and administrative support.

  • Liaise with community facilitators and education settings to ensure smooth communication and coordination.

  • Support the production and execution of carnival events, including logistical preparations.

  • Assist in managing programme materials, resources, and participant records.

  • Help with outreach and engagement efforts to encourage community participation.

  • Maintain accurate documentation and reporting on programme activities.

  • Perform general administrative tasks to support the education team.

General Responsibilities:

  • Keep informed of and work in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and good practice developments. 

  • Contribute to other SPC projects from time to time. 

  • Carry out duties in compliance with SPC’s policies and procedures 

  • Participate in staff meetings, supervision, appraisals and training as agreed with the line manager. o Contribute to agreed monitoring and evaluation of own work/projects and contribute to regular and annual reports. 

  • Be responsible for your own safety and not endanger that of colleagues/visitors in the workplace. Undertake occasional out of hours work, as directed by your line manager. 

  • Act as an ambassador for SPC  and positively contribute to the delivery of SPC’s  marketing and communication strategies. 

  • Undertake other reasonable duties commensurate with the grading for the post.
